This week the Star Salvation finalists must put signature spins on childhood snacks before presenting them to the judges (in just 25 minutes). Here's the kicker: In addition to regular judges Geoffrey and Damaris, Star Salvation added one child who knows all about food competitions. Brandon Scawthorn, the winner of Rachael vs. Guy: Kids Cook-Off, is no stranger to the network, and he's an ace at Web series, hosting his own, called Cooking in the Fast Lane. This challenge was an easy task for him: "For me growing up, crepes was one of my favorites," Brandon says of his go-to snack.

Star Talk caught up with Brandon on the set of Star Salvation to talk about his experience. Read below for his interview and click play on the video below to watch his episode.

Star Talk: What was it like being a part of Star Salvation?

Brandon Scawthorn: This is so exciting. First I won Rachael vs. Guy: Kids Cook-Off, now I'm here as a judge — it's just amazing.

Star Talk: Did you ever think from that moment you won that all these other opportunities might happen?

BS: You know, actually, that one was one of the first things that popped in my mind. What's next? I can’t believe what I'm going to do next!

Star Talk: What were you most excited for being a part of this Web series?
BS: You know, I want to be a judge, and since this is actually my first time judging food itself, it's what I looked forward to most. I had so much fun. I got to be part of a judging panel that included Geoffrey Zakarian and Damaris Phillips. Geoffrey is my favorite Chopped judge, and he’s an Iron Chef, so that’s awesome. And Damaris actually won Food Network Star. What more could I ask for?
Star Talk: Are you a fan of Food Network Star?

BS: Of course I am. I've been watching Food Network Star almost forever.

Star Talk: What is your favorite part about Food Network Star?

BS: Watching the finale — seeing who's going to win. It's constant anticipation. I like that fans can vote for the winner too.

Star Talk: What advice would you give to these finalists?

BS: You know what I’d tell them? Just keep on trying. Keep on trying, always practice, learn those recipes, make them better and do whatever you can to do your absolute best.
