In this episode of Unwrapped, the process of making Salem, Oregon based Kettle Chips is highlighted. Kettle Chips seeks to simulate the way that kettle style chips were originally made during the 1800s. The process starts with slicing potatoes. They are then dropped in hot oil. Each 300lb batch is cooked by hand. The kettle cooked chips are then put through a sorter process, seasoned and bagged.
