Magnolia Bakery has long been famous for everything from its connection to the long-running classic series Sex and the City to its legendary banana pudding and photo-friendly cupcakes, but now they are taking one of their hallmark menu items in a whole new and exciting direction.

Magnolia’s banana pudding has now been reimagined as a Banana Pudding Cookie that is soft, chewy and has crushed vanilla wafers and mashed bananas baked right into the dough. While it can be enjoyed on its own, the bakery also encourages fans to get fully meta and enjoy it dipped into an order of banana pudding. Guess you can’t have too much of a good thing, right?

We got our hands on a box of the cookies and can confirm: The mashup delivers on bringing together the best parts of an ideal cookie (slightly crisp around the edges, but soft, moist and chewy in the center) and the brand’s banana pudding (its varied texture and gentle, comforting flavor). The overall banana flavor, and aroma, is just as robust as the pudding itself.

Digging into a pint of Magnolia’s banana pudding is like being swaddled in a warm blanket and getting lost in a happy place. Somehow, despite missing the anticipation and satisfaction of scooping into heavenly fluff, the cookie brings you to the same place. The reimagined treat will definitely appeal (perhaps even more so) to those who can’t get enough of the toothsome wafers in the original.

The new cookie is available now on Magnolia’s website, priced at six cookies for $25 plus shipping or in-store for $3.70 per cookie at all bakery locations nationwide, meaning it is possible to get a taste no matter where you are in the country.

Will banana pudding cookies prove to be as popular as the original banana pudding? Well, the truth does remain that we really can’t have too much of a good thing. That’s especially true when the original inspiration is so delicious!
