The secret to a great starter? A sprinkle of bagel seasoning.

Make Your Own Everything Seasoning Mix 1 tablespoon each poppy seeds, sesame seeds, dried minced garlic and dried minced onion and 1 1/2 teaspoons kosher salt.

Everything Cheese Balls Mix 8 ounces softened scallion cream cheese with 1 cup shredded dill havarti, 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce, 1/2 teaspoon grated lemon zest and a few drops of hot sauce. Roll into 1-inch balls (about 20) and chill until firm, about 1 hour. Roll in chopped chives and everything seasoning.


Everything Cheese Straws Roll out 2 thawed frozen puff pastry sheets into 11-inch squares on a floured surface. Beat 1 egg with 1 teaspoon water; brush on the pastry. Sprinkle each sheet with 1 tablespoon everything seasoning, then 1/4 cup grated parmesan; press to adhere. Cut into 1/2-inch-wide strips; divide between 2 parchment-lined baking sheets and twist each strip. Bake at 400 degrees F until golden brown, 15 to 20 minutes.


Everything Deviled Eggs Peel and halve 12 hard-boiled eggs. Scoop out the yolks and mash with 1/4 cup each mayonnaise and softened cream cheese, 2 tablespoons everything seasoning, 1 to 2 teaspoons dijon mustard and the juice of 1/2 lemon. Spoon or pipe into the egg whites. Top with more everything seasoning and small cucumber slices.


Everything Spiced Nuts Whisk 1 egg white in a large bowl until frothy, then add 4 cups mixed nuts and 2 tablespoons everything seasoning and toss to coat. Spread on an oiled baking sheet and bake at 325 degrees F, stirring once, until toasted, about 25 minutes. Let cool.

Everything Hummus Fill a small bowl with olive hummus. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle generously with everything seasoning and paprika. Serve with pita chips or bagel chips.


Everything Pigs in Blankets Unroll one 8-ounce tube crescent-roll dough; separate into triangles, then cut each into 3 long strips. Wrap each strip around a cocktail frank; press to seal and arrange seam-side down on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Brush with beaten egg and sprinkle with everything seasoning. Bake at 375 degrees F until golden, 15 minutes. Serve with mustard.
