Roughly chop the tomatoes. Place in a saucepan with olive oil and season with salt and pepper. Cook slowly on stove top until tomatoes are melted. Add chopped basil and serve.
This sauce would would be a great base for an Italian Marinara sauce. I would not call it salsa. I am a mexican food lover. I will use this for the beginning of my Italian tomato based sauces. Sounds Great!!!
