Former commercial lobster diver Stephen Gyland founded Cod & Capers in 1984, and he still has very close relationships with local fishermen. At this market and cafe, customers can pick-up whole lobster or tails to cook at home, or eat at the onsite cafe. On Wednesday nights, the market offers crustacean-focused meal deals at lower-than-usual price points for what it calls Florida Lobster Fest. Gyland’s goal for the special is to draw attention to the local industry. Though whole lobsters are only available during the season, tails are served year-round.
