7 Design Ideas That Will Make You Want to Buy a Bar Cart Right Now
Stylish and functional, a small home bar will spruce up any room.
When I first moved into my apartment the most exciting and “adult” item I purchased was a bar cart. I had never owned one (why would I need one when I was living at my parent’s house?) but always wanted to because they’re so glamorous — and also practical. I had had my eye on a gold, two-tiered one forever so, as soon as I moved, I splurged and bought it!
Not only was it easy to put together but it totally transformed my living space and became the focal point of the room. I pass by it every day and when I do, I can’t help but rearrange a few of the items I’ve placed on it, making it even more pretty as the days go by. It’s the perfect spot for extra storage but because everything is on display, I want to make sure it looks great from every angle. It’s fun to constantly change things, swapping items in and out.
If you don’t already have a bar setup at home, bar carts are the way to go. They’re versatile, beautiful and sure to spruce up any room you place them in. And, of course, they allow you to grab a drink whenever happy hour rolls around!

Stay Golden
You’ve got a lot of great options when it comes to the materials your cart is made from (wood, black iron and even rattan) but if you’re going for glamour pick something in gold. This design takes the theme over the top by adding a golden cocktail shaker and jigger along with a unique piece of art that’s entirely, you guessed it, gold.
You'd Better Be-leaf It
A bar cart is a great reason to bring more plants into your home too. They’ll dress up your collection of bottles and help brighten up the room with a natural freshness. You could choose something bold and dramatic like what’s shown above, or simply grace your cart with a cute green succulent or a vase of fresh flowers.
Keep It “Glassy”
Simplicity never goes out of style — and this bar cart won’t either. Keep it minimal by selecting your favorites glasses and putting them on display. Add clear decanters to finish this no-effort, elegant look.
Fully Booked
This acrylic bar cart elevates your favorite items (both literally and figuratively) by using cool, coffee table books to add height and dimension. Don’t forget to proudly display the titles and bindings of each book you choose!
Shine On
Although the disco ball may be the centerpiece of this cart, we can’t forget what a bar is really about: the drinks! Here, the bottles are clustered together in a pretty arrangement that enhances the look of the cart while still letting the eye-catching accent pieces shine.
Fruity Intentions
Sometimes a simple bowl of fruit is just the natural pop of color you need on your bar cart. You can use any fruit that you have in your kitchen but I like the idea of lemons or limes — that way they’re never too far away when it’s time to make a drink!
To the Walls
If you have your bar cart stationed against a wall, utilize the vertical space too! Framed art, mirrors, and even personalized signage works perfectly and creates a one-of-a-kind backdrop. If nothing else, it will invite you and your guests to venture closer to the bar!
