4 slices bacon, coarsely chopped

2 cups water

1 pound collard greens, trimmed, washed and thinly chopped

Dash sugar



  1. Render bacon until crispy. Remove and set aside.
  2. To rapidly boiling water add collard greens, sugar and salt. Cook until tender. Drain and toss with bacon
