Hibiscus Southsider

Ingredients

1 ounce gin, such as Plymouth

3/4 ounce hibiscus tea

3/4 ounce Simple Syrup, recipe follows

1/2 ounce lemon juice 

Lime wedge, for garnish 

Simple Syrup:

1 cup sugar

Directions

  1. Put the gin, tea, Simple Syrup and lemon juice in a mixing glass, add large ice and shake vigorously with a cocktail shaker. Taste for balance, strain into a martini or Nick and Nora glass with ice and garnish with a lime wedge.

Simple Syrup:

  1. Combine the sugar and 1 cup water in a small saucepan and bring to a boil. Cook, stirring, until the sugar dissolves. Remove from the heat and let cool completely. Keep covered in the refrigerator up to 1 month.
