Since you can’t reserve fruit, and Waimanalo is out of the way, order it for dessert at Chef Chai, where it’s nicely sliced and all you have to do is dig in. If you are lucky enough to get a pineapple, it will cost about $6 to $10 a pound and be sold without the crown so you can’t regrow it at home.
