More than a century ago, Lake McDonald Lodge was established as a hunting base and designed to resemble a Swiss chalet. Now it’s Glacier National Park’s premier hotel, and its fine-dining restaurant, Russell’s Fireside Dining Room, is the best in the park. With wooden walls, exposed beams and a stone fireplace, the space echoes the feel of the historic building. Breakfast, lunch and dinner menus are made up of locally inspired fare, like Columbia River steelhead trout and braised Snake River Farms Kurobuta pork shank.
