Aldi Is Selling a Spooky Spin on a Fan Favorite
Seriously, this product took the top spot in a customer survey.
Trick-or-treating probably isn’t happening this year, but pumpkins are still here to revive your squashed Halloween plans and help you celebrate the holiday. Sometimes, those pumpkins come in unexpected forms.
Take, for instance, the Halloween Pumpkin-Shaped Pizza that Aldi will start selling this week. Super cute and spooky, Mama Cozzi's Pizza Kitchen Halloween Pumpkin-Shaped Pizza, an Aldi Find, features, according to its packaging, “a crispy crust topped with a creamy butternut squash sauce, cheddar cheese, mozzarella eyes and a mascarpone cheese sauce” smile.
And that cheese? The package, decorated with ghosts and spiderwebs, boasts that the frozen pizza is also made with “100% real cheese,” in case you were concerned.
Do note: If you want one of these pumpkin-shaped puppies, priced at $3.99, you should probably plan to snap it up sooner rather than later because Aldi’s personal pizzas have a cult following and this limited-edition version is apt to sell out quick. Last month, Aldi’s shared that Mama Cozzi's Take & Bake Deli Pizza had been voted the overall winner of its 2020 Fan Favorite survey.
“People love pizza,” the industry news source Progressive Grocer reported at the time, calling the results of Aldi’s second annual Fan Favorites survey unsurprising. “The retailer’s Mama Cozzi’s Take & Bake Deli Pizza was the overall favorite product, earning 55,000 votes from the 177,000 surveyed shoppers and winning in the easy meal category.”
The pumpkin-shaped individual pizzas are supposed to hit Aldi stores on Wednesday, October 7, but people are already posting “look what I found” photos of them on Instagram.
So maybe this year, while you carve a pumpkin, you’ll be slicing and biting into one, too.
