Lobster season is almost here. But even if you’re not in Maine or some coast of seafood bliss, don't have a heap of cash to spend on fancy foods or are not equipped with a bib and tools ready for claw-cracking action, you can still get your lobster on – thanks to Aldi. And you don’t even have to wait for the season to begin in earnest to enjoy it.

Aldi is now offering an affordable lobster roll dip for a limited time. As one of its get-them-before-they’re-gone weekly specials, Aldi Finds, the grocery chain is selling 12-ounce tubs of Park Street Deli Lobster Roll Dip for $3.29. And according to reports from people who have tried the dip, which is available only through Tuesday, March 17, it’s chock-full of actual lobster.

“To my surprise there’s a good mix of little slivers and larger chunks of lobster. I say it’s surprising because this dip is less than $4!” Lisa Freedman wrote on The Kitchn.

Freedman reports that while the dip doesn’t taste completely like a lobster roll (there seems to be a mustard thing going on), it’s still delicious.

“Part of me was hoping this dip would be so lobster roll-like, I could toast up a Martin’s hot dog bun and stuff it with some spoonfuls. I do not advise that,” she writes. “But. But! If you pair some kettle chips with this dip, you’ll find yourself with a nice summer-ready snack.”
