Get Ready: 70-Calorie, Lower-ABV White Claws Are Coming
As if you needed another excuse to drink seltzer.
It’s safe to say that the obsession with White Claw Hard Seltzer isn’t going away anytime soon. Seriously, people are making boozy slushies by blending up their favorite White Claw flavors with frozen fruit and vodka.
The beloved spiked seltzer brand already made headlines this year when it launched three new flavors (Watermelon, Tangerine and Lemon), and now White Claw is giving us yet another low-cal drink to drool over: White Claw 70.
Similar to the White Claws you know and love, the White Claw 70s are made using a blend of seltzer water, fruit flavor and a gluten-free alcohol base. Like the name suggests, each White Claw 70 offers only 70 calories and 0g of sugar. In comparison, the regular White Claw flavors deliver 100 calories and 2g of sugar (excluding Pure, which contains 100 calories and 0g of sugar).
According to White Claw, the purpose of this innovation is to appeal to the growing market of consumers seeking lower ABV options. Not only are the White Claw 70s lower in calories and sugar, but the cans also offer 3.7% ALC/VOL rather than 5% ALC/VOL, meaning they’re a great option for those wanting a taste of booze without as much of a buzz.
The best part? White Claw has blessed us with two never-before-seen flavors. That’s right — the White Claw 70s are offered in brand-new Pineapple and Clementine flavors. Both of these 70-calorie sippers will be available in their own individual six-packs at participating retailers nationwide.
So, whether you’re on the hunt for an even lower calorie hard seltzer or you’re eager to test out a new White Claw slushie recipe (Pineapple White Claw 70 + frozen pineapple + tequila, anyone?), we’re sure these will hit the spot.
