All the Groceries Worth Buying at Aldi
It's natural to get into a rut when it comes to grocery shopping — you probably frequent the same chains and buy the same groceries each time. But, if you're not already familiar with Aldi, a German grocery chain making waves across the US, we urge you to give it (and its unique, award-winning products) a try.
The grocery store chain with nearly 2,000 stores sprawling 36 states offers a majority of Aldi-branded items rather than the name brands you are probably familiar with. But don't think that means it's lacking quality. The chain prides itself on a simpler shopping experience, which, in turn, helps save its customers major cash. (Sure, you have to shell out 25 cents to rent a grocery cart, but the company claims this system helps save you money in the end). Whether it's your first time as an Aldi shopper or you're a total devotee already, we rounded up 10 Aldi favorites (both new and iconic) that you should always add to your cart.
Specially Selected Caramel Macchiato Cupcakes
Fall is basically an excuse to start your day with an indulgent drink that's so decadent, it's basically a dessert. And thanks to Aldi's seasonal line of goods, which include these caramel macchiato cupcakes, your favorite fall beverage actually takes the form of a post-dinner treat.
Choceur Peanut Butter Cups
According to a blind taste test which put Aldi’s Choceur brand up against other noteworthy peanut butter cups including Reese’s, Justin’s, Trader Joe’s and Butterfinger, these creamy little cups took the top prize. The review noted their ideal peanut butter-to-chocolate ratio and noticeable quality of ingredients.
Specially Selected Aged Reserve White Cheddar
Grabbing anything from Aldi's wide selection of cheeses is a must whenever visiting the grocery store (we think the goat cheese and smoked gouda are also great options!). But if there is one cheese we think you should keep stocked up on at all times, it's the award-winning white cheddar. In 2013, this cheese was named a 2013 United States Cheese Championship Gold Medal Winner. (And don't forget to keep an eye out for Aldi's famous wine and cheese advent calendars later this year.)
There are more than 60 labels of Aldi wine available to purchase, most retailing for less than $10, making stocking up on a few bottles practically a given. With so many award-winning bottles available, you can find something for the red wine, white wine or rosé lover in your life.
Fair Trade Certified and Rainforest Alliance Certified Coffee
Aldi started offering Fair Trade Certified coffee in 2012, and they have since expanded to 23 Fair Trade Certified coffee options. They also carry Rainforest Alliance Certified coffee, which is coffee grown and harvested using environmentally and socially responsible practices. Seasonal flavors are also released throughout the year, with the newest, Barissimo Pumpkin Spice Ground Coffee, coming September 10.
liveGfree Gluten Free Cheddar Biscuits
As part of Aldi’s entire line of gluten-free products, which include granola bars, baking mixes, bread, pasta and frozen meals, these cheddar biscuits are a real stand out. According to fans, you won’t even notice that these flavor-packed biscuits are gluten-free.
liveGfree Gluten Free Cinnamon Raisin Bagels
Aldi claims to be the first grocery store to offer its own line of gluten-free products, which is may be why shoppers trust them to deliver delicious, quality gluten-free options like these cinnamon raisin bagels.
If you’re looking for a satisfying snack that you don’t have to feel guilty about, Aldi's organic options (like these Simply Nature Organic White Cheddar Puffs or Simply Nature Organic Hummus in Classic, Red Pepper or Garlic) have you covered. When the White Cheddar Puffs were released in 2017, they won the BrandSpark Best New Product Award based on feedback from Shopper Army, which we can only imagine is an ode to the vibrant flavors and lack of artificial colors or enhancers.
Make sure you’re checking out the meat section at your local Aldi for Never Any! Fresh ABF Chicken Breasts. This brand ensures you’re feeding your family chicken that's free of antibiotics, added hormones or animal byproducts.

Specially Selected Dark Chocolate Covered Sea Salt Caramels
Aldi shoppers love the grocer’s selection of chocolate. Imported from Germany and Fair Trade Certified, these dark-chocolate-covered coated caramels are the exact level of decadence everyone needs in their life.
Simply Nature Organic Coconut Oil
There are so many uses for coconut oil, both in the kitchen and your beauty routine, that it’s wise to stay stocked-up on this pantry staple. When purchasing from Aldi, you can rest assured that you’re getting a pure, organic product. All organic items from Aldi must meet the USDA National Organic Program Standards and have been certified by a USDA accredited organization, according to the company.
