Football Sandwich-Making Is the Perfect Pre-Kickoff Activity
We've got a new idea for your game-day party this year — gather your friends and make this recipe LIVE with us on the Food Network Kitchen app!
This Sunday is one of the biggest "sit-on-your-butt-and-watch-this-spectacle" events of the year (psst — it's the Super Bowl). Here at Food Network, we are all about celebrating the big game — and though we're pretty into painstakingly deciding what pigs-in-a-blanket to serve, we also love the excitement and anticipation that comes with cheering on your favorite team — or your favorite half-time performer! There's something for everyone on Super Bowl day.
But to be frank, the hours of commentary leading up to the game are not exactly must-see TV, in my opinion. It takes quite a bit of spin and stamina to weave hours of a "which team is better??" narrative into something that's not the same as what's been said on any other game day of the year. And yet, your pals over. They're eating chips (and hopefully buffalo chicken dip), and they're probably going to submit to the lure of the talking heads — unless you do something else!
Here's our different suggestion for this year — gather your friends around the Food Network Kithchen app and finish up making your game-day snacks together! One of our recipe developers, Arlyn Osborne, is teaching a LIVE class on how to make our Pastrami Football Finger Sandwiches, and you and your guests can cook right alongside her, ask her questions, and just have a grand ol' time. And even if you're not a Food Network Kitchen subscriber yet, you can still join in — we've unlocked this class so anyone can take it for free.
Sound good? We want to see all your football sandwiches and hear about how you're celebrating game day! So join Arlyn on Sunday at 4 p.m. EST (plenty of time before kickoff) on the Food Network Kitchen app. And hit "remind me" in the app to make sure you don't miss out on the fun.
