On this season of Giada in Italy, Giada is taking her daughter, Jade, to one of her family’s favorite vacation spots: the island of Capri. “Capri is a drop-dead gorgeous island off the coast of Southern Italy,” says Giada, "known for the faraglioni, three massive rocks that rise dramatically from the sea, fresh Mediterranean-style food, and a unique sense of style." Yes, this where Capri pants got their name!

For Jade’s first trip to Capri, Giada is introducing her to the food, friendship and family history that had made the island so special to her. “We vacationed here a lot as kids … I want to share all the places and foods that my grandfather shared with me. When I think of my grandfatherand Capri, I think of seafood. I think of pasta. I think of lemons,” says Giada.

“Capri is the land of lemons. They're everywhere and used in almost every recipe.” For Jade’s first night in Capri, Giada made crepes inspired by a favorite dessert from Capri, Delizia al Limone, which are round sponge cakes filled with lemon curd and topped with lemon cream. “They take a minute to make, and I didn't want to spend that much time," said Giada. "I know Jade loves crepes, so I could get the same texture from the crepe that I can get from that dessert that I love.”

"First day in Capri, you got to have lemon and basil." says Giada. This light and refreshing dessert covers both of those iconic flavors.

Giada tucks super-thin slices of lemon into this mozzarella grilled cheese for an intriguing bite.

“Capers are also found in Capri, because the caper bush grows really well next to the ocean," explains Giada. The sauce is also great on chicken.

Giada calls this dish a “a light and creamy spoonful of sunshine.”

This is one of Giada’s all-time favorite desserts from Capri.
