3/4 pound ground turkey or chicken (preferably dark meat, or a mix of dark and breast meat)

1/4 yellow onion, grated

2 cloves garlic, minced

1/3 cup wing sauce, such as Frank's, plus more for serving

Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper

6 tablespoons crumbled Gorgonzola cheese

6 slider buns, toasted

Your favorite burger toppings, such as sliced avocado, arugula and sliced red onion

  1. Combine the ground meat, onion, garlic and wing sauce in a medium bowl. Season with salt and pepper. Mix gently with your hands, taking care not to overmix.
  2. Form the mixture into 6 patties (each about 2 ounces). Place 1 tablespoon Gorgonzola cheese in the center of a patty. Fold the sides around the cheese and press together to seal, completely covering the cheese. Flatten gently back into a patty. Repeat with the remaining patties.
  3. Grill the patties in a grill pan set over medium heat until cooked through, 5 to 6 minutes per side. (You can also cook the patties in a countertop electric grill for 5 to 6 minutes total.)
  4. Serve the patties on toasted slider buns with a drizzle of extra wing sauce and your favorite burger toppings.
