Liquid Gold Mustard Sauce

Ingredients

1 1/2 cups yellow mustard

1/2 cup apple cider vinegar 

5 tablespoons light brown sugar 

2 teaspoons hot sauce 

2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce 

1 teaspoon vanilla extract 

1 teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper 

Directions

  1. Add the mustard, vinegar, brown sugar, hot sauce, Worcestershire, vanilla and pepper to a small pot and bring to a simmer while constantly whisking. Simmer lightly until the sugar is dissolved, about 5 minutes.

Made this yesterday for dunking cocktail smokies wrapped in pastry dough (pigs in a blanket). My family loves this sauce! I saw where some people thought it was too thin so I backed off a little on the vinegar and vanilla. I’ll need to make more and keep on hand for sandwiches. With the seasonings, this is just different enough that it really is worth having around!!
