Role Reversal

Bobby and Anne have spent the last five weeks telling the recruits what to do, but for this Skill Drill challenge, the roles have changed. With a plate of food in front of each team, the recruits will dictate over microphone what they see to their mentor, who will replicate the dish in the kitchen. Amber worries: "How are we supposed to tell Bobby what to do if we can't even see him? It's like blind cooking."

Deciphering the Clues

Danny tells Bobby it's a square, white fish, but Danny keeps second-guessing himself. Bobby's concerned that "if we don't pick the right fish, the whole dish is wrong." Amber is leaning toward it being halibut. "I'm doing more standing around than cooking while these guys figure it out," Bobby says. So he decides to go with halibut. "I kind of feel like a sketch criminal artist and I'm trying to re-create the scene of the crime."

Knowing When to Close Your Mouth

Jamie is more than excited to have the chance to boss Chef Anne around for a change. He says "the palate is the focus," as he tries to discern the dish in front of him, but he's spending more time tasting than speaking at first. Mike compares Jamie's chewing sounds to a "fish breathing underwater," and Anne even comments on it: "I can hear you chewing in my ear, Jamie!"

Varying Outlooks, Differing Opinions

There's one ingredient that the guys can't figure out. Jamie thinks it's "bok choy, like a Chinese food," but Mike says it resembles "a rose cut in half." At first Anne has no idea, but she guesses it's an endive. When it comes to the final topping on the fish, Jamie describes it as an "afro puff," referring to the gremolata. "Don't you think 'afro puff' could have been helpful in the beginning?" Anne asks as she finishes down to the wire.

Expert Team Communication

On first look, Anne thinks the dishes she and Bobby cooked are similar. Bobby admits his team's issue was that they ate it too quickly. Once the cloche is lifted from the control dish, it's apparent that Anne's dish is the closest rendition. "I thought you guys communicated to me pretty well," she tells Jamie and Mike, "and I think it shows on the plate." The Red Team wins.

The recruits are surprised when the chefs start to bring in family members whom they have not seen since the beginning of the competition, such as Daniel's daughter, Alison Beyda. The recruits find out their loved ones will be judging their home-cooked meals in blind taste-tests, and potentially ruling against them in the Feed the Family Challenge, as seen on Food Network's Worst Cooks in America, Season 5.

The Reason They're Here

The following day, the recruits enter Boot Camp for their last Main Dish challenge, which will decide the final two. Anne reminds the final four of why they're here: "Some of the reasons that you guys said you wanted to come here was to learn how to cook for yourselves and to cook for your loved ones." With that said, one by one, Bobby and Anne bring out the recruits' loved ones, who they'll be cooking for.

Their Toughest Critics

Bobby brings out Amber's daughter Zoi. "Seeing Zoi reminds me to keep going forward," says Amber. She excitedly tells her daughter, "I can actually cook." Bobby jokingly responds, "All right, let's not get crazy." Danny's surprised by his daughter, Alison, who he's happy to see but scared to cook for: "We've had some tough judges ... [but] not as tough as Ali."

Competing Out of Love

Jamie has a good guess that Anne is bringing out his husband, Paco. "This one I think is the biggie," he says, because he came to Boot Camp to learn to cook for Paco. Mike is overwhelmed to see his girlfriend, Lindsay. "I haven't seen my girlfriend in six weeks," he says, "and in love years, that's half a million."

Time to Break Out the Skills

Anne has Mike preparing seared salmon with lentils and kale salad. She shows him how to slice the kale extra fine. "I want to win so bad," says Mike, "so got to get that crispy skin. Got to get those knife cuts right. Everything that we've been learning needs to be implemented today."

Confident Cook

Bobby watches Danny plate his spaghetti and meatballs, the dish Bobby chose for him to make Alison. Danny's excited to be able to make this dish for his family in the future, and he's confident in the skills he's gained to have the chance to do so: "Boot Camp's been a total roller coaster, but I can cook now."

Putting All Nerves Aside

Anne has Jamie make a dish of black bass and polenta with "a nod to Spanish flavors" that she thinks Paco will appreciate. Jamie has never cooked fish, so he's nervous, but he's going to do his best; he says, "I'm going to kill this dish because he is my loved one."

Bobby had Amber make chicken Parmesan for Zoi. Amber admits she started out not knowing what flavor was, to now being able to cook. "And now no more eating out for this family," she says, "because Mom's gonna cook dinner." For that she deserves a pat on the back.

Tasting in the Blind

Mike and Jamie watch on TV as their loved ones go in for a blind tasting. Except for lacking seasoning, Jamie's bass dish is found to be "very elaborate" and "festive" by Paco. The consensus with Mike's salmon dish is that the salmon is too rare, but Lindsay finds the kale and lentils delicious. Both Paco and Lindsay say they'd pick the salmon over the bass, but Paco incorrectly guesses the salmon as Jamie's.

Tasting On Point

"It's nerve-racking to know that Ali could be the one that sends me home," says Danny as he and Amber anxiously watch the tasting. Alison admits she's not a fan of meatballs, but she likes the dish her dad made. Although she's not a fan of tomato sauce in general, Zoi likes her mom's chicken Parmesan. Both girls accurately recognize their parents' dishes and choose them as their favorites.

A New Lease on Life

Anne has a tough decision to make as she says, "I think either way ... I will have a winner on my hands." By a very thin margin, she chooses Jamie to represent her in the finale, which means it's time for Mike to go home. Mike says he owes it all to Anne for helping him understand food better. "I've always loved food," he says, "but I've never known how food is made into love."

All for the Family

Bobby reveals that "as somebody who has a daughter," he was touched seeing Amber and Danny reunite with their daughters, which told him a lot about who they are. Between the doctor and the tattoo artist, he decides to continue on with Amber, meaning it's over for Danny. "I've had an incredible adventure," says Danny about his time on the show, "and what I've learned and what I can take home is priceless."
