For $8.99 a Month, You Can Get Unlimited Coffee at Panera

Two of the best words in the English language -- especially when uttered together – may just be Unlimited Coffee. Better still: Panera is hooking us all up with it.
The bakery-café chain has just announced that, starting today, February 27, it will launch what it says is “the first UNLIMITED high-quality coffee subscription service” offering both hot coffee and iced coffee (yes, iced, too) as well as hot tea.
For $8.99 plus tax per month, people who sign up for the subscription service will be able to drink as much coffee (hot or iced) and tea (hot) as they want at the more than 2,100 Panera locations nationwide. The subscription service will be available only to members of MyPanera, which is free to join.
“With your MyPanera Coffee subscription, you'll get unlimited coffee for the price of about 4 cups,” Panera notes on the sign-up page. “That's just under 30 cents a day for any size, any flavor: Light roast, dark roast, hazelnut, decaf, iced, or hot tea.”
Honestly, for big-time coffee drinkers, that’s a pretty sweet deal. And in other sweet news, Panera has also announced that, whether you get your coffee through a subscription or order it a la carte, you won’t need to pay extra for almond milk in your coffee – as part of the chain’s “ongoing effort to be more plant-forward.”
Other non-dairy milk alternatives at coffee stations may also be coming; Panera says it is “actively exploring” adding them in the near future.
Could that mean no upcharge for oat milk? Soy milk? Coconut milk? The possibilities are… unlimited.
