Now that your student is back in the school groove, it’s time to really think about what you’re putting in their lunchbox. Though candy and cookies are a fun treat for the start of the school year, they’re not ideal for an everyday snack. Instead, consider sending your student to school with one of these healthy, lunchbox-sized treats. They’re convenient, versatile and loaded with nutrients to help avoid the mid-afternoon slump. Don't be surprised if you steal a few for your own desk lunch!

Pistachios are an excellent snack choice — they’re loaded with antioxidants and fiber to keep your student feeling their best. These chewy bites are mixed with healthy fruits, like blueberries and plums, and individually wrapped so you can throw one in the lunchbox with minimal effort.

Trail mix is sneaky — it seems healthy, but a lot of options are mixed with unhealthy ingredients. With just almonds, cashews and cranberries, this trail mix is perfectly simple and full of healthy fats to keep your student full all afternoon.

If your student prefers a crunchy snack, consider swapping potato chips for baked fruit chips. Available in apple, banana and coconut, these chips are just as crispy, but offer significantly more nutrients — without the oil and salt.

Skip the Fruit Roll Ups and grab one of these instead. Stretch Island’s fruit leather is full of flavor, but free from added sugar, artificial flavors and food coloring. As an added bonus, they’re easily portable and completely mess-free.

With only 5 grams of sugar and 50 calories per serving, Siggi’s yogurt tubes are a great lunchtime snack. Our advice? Store the yogurt in the freezer the night before you pack it for lunch. When your student opens their lunchbox, it’ll still be nice and cold.

Applesauce is classic comfort food, and it’s even better when there’s no added sugar. Plus, these pouches are a great grab and go option for busy mornings.

These on-the-go snack packs house the perfect serving of guac and chips, so you won't be tempted to binge on the high-fat dip. Pick original, spicy or homestyle for the perfect pick-me-up.
