Chances are, you have strong opinions about the appropriate topping for a sweet potato casserole. Some prefer a layer of golden, gooey toasted marshmallows, while others enjoy a crisp, crunchy streusel. But if you ask us, both toppings deserve their place at the table — and we're not the only ones who think so. Don't believe us? Just ask Pinterest!

The site's most-pinned sweet potato casserole recipe is Celebrating Sweets' Sweet Potato Casserole with Marshmallow & Pecan Streusel. And with 255,000 saves on one post alone, that’s quite a feat.

According to Allison from Celebrating Sweets, the casserole was inspired by her family’s traditional recipe. Though their recipe called for canned yams and marshmallows, Allison prefers to use fresh sweet potatoes, plus a brown sugar-pecan streusel. "This is a dish I only make a handful of times per year, so I love that it is fun and over-the-top," she says.

Allison promises that her casserole is the perfect combination of sweet, salty, crunchy and creamy. "The marshmallows satisfy the traditionalists and the streusel adds a little something unexpected that everyone goes crazy for," she says.

And really, what more could you ask for in just one dish?
