Summer is in full swing – which means there are plenty of excuses, between barbecues and dinner parties, to put together a stunning, sprawling fruit platter. To impress guests, a rainbow of carefully arranged fruit will do the trick. But if you’re looking for something totally unexpected? Vivian Aronson, a.k.a. @cookingbomb on TikTok, has something brilliant up her sleeve.

In our brand new digital series Food Network TikTok Challenge, we put Vivian to the test and asked her to make a dumpling we’ve never seen before. The result? A Clear Fruit Dumpling that will have guests scratching their heads, but licking up every last bit.

Vivian starts with agar-agar to create her sweet dumpling wrapper, and adds some color with butterfly pea tea. After cooking, cooling and shaping with a cookie cutter, she dices up strawberries, kiwis and dragon fruit (but you can use whatever you like) and fills the wrappers with the fruit pieces to form the dumplings.

Of course, they’re not complete without dipping sauce, so to pair with her dessert dumplings, Vivian creates a quick strawberry puree to serve alongside.

And voila! In just an hour, you can turn a fresh fruit platter into a dish with some serious wow factor.

To get a breakdown of how to make Vivian’s refreshing, interactive dessert (and a behind-the-scenes look into how she developed the recipe), check out her episode on Food Network TikTok Challenge. Plus, stay tuned for more out-of-the-box creations from some of your other favorite food TikTokers.
