Air fryers, shmair fryers. It’s true that they deliver crispy onion rings and chicken wings without a huge amount of oil, but when it comes to making the ultimate custardy quiche, there’s another kitchen appliance that reigns supreme.

You may have guessed the Instant Pot, but there’s no need for fancy settings and a whole bunch of buttons to make the best crustless quiche ever.

The key to getting the luscious texture just right is slowly cooking it over super low heat and the best way to do that and keep the temperature perfectly even is with… a slow cooker!

The humble slow cooker has taken a backseat to other flashy new appliances, but it’s still a kitchen workhorse. Plus, it’s often the most affordable of the three appliances. And of course, it has the great ability to magically turn an eggy, liquid mixture into a creamy, dreamy crustless quiche.

In fact, Emily Weinberger shows us just how easy it is in her Slow-Cooker Ham, Cheese and Spinach Crustless Quiche class on the Food Network Kitchen app.

Since quiches filled with veggies can end up a watery mess, Emily instead sautees spinach and uses it as a topping with stunning results. She also shares a bunch of great cooking hacks, such as two tricks for grating cheese faster and more easily—you’ve got to watch the class to see what she does!

As long as we follow her smart tips for prepping the slow cooker insert with two key items, we’ll be floating on a cloud of a perfectly fluffy and super cheese quiche that’s perfect for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Also, it may be just the thing to make for a brunch celebrating a special person in your life. As for a gift…a slow cooker may even be the answer, too.

Check out the Slow-Cooker Ham, Cheese and Spinach Crustless Quiche class and find more great brunch ideas on the Food Network Kitchen app.
