Ingredients

Deselect All

1 cup Spanish brandy, warmed

1 cup light rum, warmed

3 tablespoons sugar

1 stick cinnamon

Peel of 1/2 of a lemon and 1/3 of an orange

4 cups strong coffee, hot

2 teaspoons coffee beans

Directions

Mix all ingredients except coffee and beans in a flameproof bowl or pot. Ignite the mixture. Let the flames burn, stirring occasionally until the alcohol burns off and the flames die out. Add the coffee slowly and the coffee beans. Or, for a more alcoholic drink, dowse the flames with the coffee slowly before they die out. Serve in mugs.

Use extreme caution when igniting alcohol. Remove the pan from the heat source before adding the alcohol. Pour the alcohol into the pan and carefully ignite with a match or click lighter. Return the pan to the heat and gently swirl to reduce the flames.
