2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

Pinch salt

1 cup softened butter

2/3 cup sugar

3/4 cup brown sugar

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

2 eggs

2 cups bittersweet chocolate chunks

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
  2. Combine flour, baking soda and salt in small bowl. Using a hand-held electric beater, cream butter and sugars for 5 minutes. Add vanilla extract and eggs, 1 at a time, until well incorporated. Stir in the flour mixture until well combined. Gently fold in the chocolate chunks.
  3. Drop golf-ball size batter, about 2 inches apart, onto a greased cookie sheet.
  4. Bake for about 9 to 12 minutes, depending on whether you like them a bit chewier or slightly crunchy.
  5. Remove from oven and let cool on the cookie sheet.
