This kid-friendly pizza bagel casserole is a fun, "deconstructed" twist on a classic snack that’s perfect for young chefs to assemble. Using torn bagels instead of a traditional crust makes it easy for kids to prep the base by hand before layering on savory pizza sauce, gooey mozzarella, sausage and colorful bell peppers. Simply bake until bubbly and melty, for a hearty, customizable meal that tastes just like a deep-dish pizza bagel.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Spray an 8-inch square baking dish with nonstick cooking spray. Arrange half of the bagel pieces in the dish, spreading them out to cover as much of the bottom as possible. Using a spoon, evenly top the bagels with half of the sauce. Sprinkle 1 cup of the mozzarella over top. Repeat with the remaining bagel pieces, sauce and mozzarella. Top with the peppers and sausage. Bake until the cheese is melted and the sausage is cooked through, 25 to 30 minutes.
  3. Let rest 5 minutes before serving, then sprinkle with your choice of pizza toppings if desired.
