Things get hot for Duff Goldman and his crew as they create a fire-shooting Mexican fiesta cake for hot sauce giant Tapatio and a towering cookie cake for a Los Angeles convention. It's a Frozen Food Feud for the first game, as the chefs race to gather ingredients for a seafood dish. In the second game, the chefs get Guy's Grocery List and must incorporate all the ingredients, including soy sauce, into their Mexican dish. The final two chefs can only cook what they carry, as they gather ingredients without using their shopping carts. The most impressive breakfast dish advances the chef to Guy's $uper $hopping $pree.
Guy Fieri and Chef Jonathan Waxman may have different cooking styles, but they both love great Mexican food. Join them as they recreate some of their favorite flavors, sharing their own cooking tips and techniques along the way. Recipes include Tortas Ahogadas, braised pork sandwiches "drowned" in a spicy tomato sauce; a Roasted Beet Salad With Chickpeas and Red Onion; and the Pink Sombrero, a tequila cocktail with grapefruit juice and basil syrup. Trisha Yearwood takes brunch to the next level by hosting a "BYOB" -- Build-Your-Own-Brunch party! She uses some of her favorite Mexican-themed dishes to create an epic food and beverage buffet for her friends to enjoy. Trisha's brunch includes a Loaded Bloody Maria with Tequila, her twist on the classic brunch cocktail, along with a fun Build-Your-Own-Taco Bar, Mini Muffin French Toast and a Yogurt Parfait with Stovetop Granola.
This trip, some of Guy's favorites are totally homemade from coast to coast. In N.Y., a real deal chef is crankin' out homemade pretzels with a special beer cheese sauce. In Vancouver, British Columbia, the butcher shop turned bakery and diner is servin' up standards like burgers and turkey pot pie. And in Santa Barbara, Calif., the family-run joint scratch makin' authentic Mexican food, like carnitas with red salsa and pozole with homemade tortillas.
Guy Fieri rolls out to some great places where the recipes really do come from mama: The St. Louis landmark where a former backup singer for Ike and Tina Turner is dishing up real deal soul food; the Mexican restaurant in a Phoenix gas station where everything's authentic, from the carne asada to the home-made menudo; and the Kentucky truck stop with real country cookin' -- and home made biscuits come with just about anything.
