Top Moments of Chopped After Hours: Chocolate Obsession

"I can't wait to get my hands on that cake," says Amanda, excited there's chocolate in every component of the chocolate decadence cake. "I'm happy about this," she adds. "I can tell," Scott replies. But the dark chocolate seaweed candy bar poses a challenge. "It's just absolutely amazing," Maneet says of the pistachio cream. And fresh apricots? Everyone's happy they're included.

"I'm going to try to make a baked Alaska," Maneet says, emphasizing the word "try." To which Scott says, "Ambitious, chef." The pistachio cream ends up in her ice cream base, but she's not the only one who needs the machine. "Maneet, hurry," Amanda yells while Ted and Maneet plot possible sabotage ideas.

Scott explains that he's making an apricot clafoutis — a baked pancakelike cake — with chocolate-olive oil mousse and pistachio schlagsahne, which is German for "whipped cream." As Scott takes out his clafoutis, Amanda says, "Oh, that's what's burning." But he corrects her: "It's not burning. It's called caramelizing."

While Amanda's working on an ice cream sandwich, Ted stops by with a surprise gift for the chocolate lover. "How much do you like chocolate?" he asks. "I just want to make sure you have enough." Amanda squeals, "This is the best day of my life." She hugs the 11-pound bar and says, "It's mine, all mine."

"I've been invited to join the crew with choco-cam," says Ted, running in to film the competition with a chocolate camera. But as he goes in for a close-up of Scott, the chef leans in for a taste. "He bit my lens off," Ted complains. "Focus, focus," the director calls out. "I can't. Scott bit the focus ring off," Ted shouts. "OK, I'm done," Ted says, giving in and taking a bite himself.

"That looks like a baked Taj Mahal," Ted hollers after Maneet, who just ran by with her baked Alaskas, ready to torch the meringue. "Oh, my God, look at that," Scott shouts excitedly. "Watching you work like this is making me so tired," he adds laughingly as she finishes her presentation.

"Apricot and white chocolate — it's a delicious combination," Maneet says of Amanda's dessert. "There's so many layers of chocolate flavor," Ted says, agreeing with Scott's assessment that he can taste them all. "I think I used every form of chocolate — I'm not kidding," says Amanda.

"Just the cream and the clafoutis is so you," Ted says of Scott and his dish. "Much like the man himself," Scott replies, sarcastically. "It makes me think of you," Ted says to Maneet of her dessert. Amanda agrees, calling it colorful and ornate like Maneet. "A beautiful, shiny, golden aura, just like you," says Scott, "that eats really well," he adds, jokingly.
