Gimme Some Sugar

"I hope you're in a sweet mood," Ted says as the judges walk in. That's because they're working with an admittedly too-sweet dessert basket filled with vanilla liqueur, peanut brittle, zucchini and chocolate-covered raisins.

So Much Dessert, So Little Time

After Ted mentions that the zucchini can be used as a neutral ingredient in a dessert, Maneet says that she's going to use the zucchini in a zucchini cake that she'll put the chocolate-covered raisins inside. How is she going to do it in time? "I will be cooking it in a really thin sheet," she says.

Fritters on the Fly

Ted sees Marc making some sort of batter out of crushed zucchini and some eggs and wonders if he's going to make a latke. "No, I'm going to make a fritter," Marc says. "Well, that's what I'm hoping." When Ted mentions the vanilla liqueur, Marc responds, "Oh, actually, that reminds me — I should probably do something with that."

Mystery Ingredients in a Mystery Dish

Amanda gets right to work on her dessert — so much so that she doesn't have time to tell Ted what she's making. When Ted asks her what she's going to put into the cake that she admits she's making, she responds, "Well, you know, there's those basket ingredients I thought I might incorporate."

Who Would Have Done Such a Thing?

After Amanda has a small meltdown because Marc hid all the plates and tried to play it off like he was innocent, everyone gets a finished dessert on the table. Everyone agrees that Maneet's dessert is the standout star, with her colorful plate and perfect seasoning. "I think people are afraid to put salt in dessert — it really works!" Amanda says.
