Meet the 'Harry Potter: Wizards of Baking' Season 2 Teams

Food Network’s hit series Harry Potter: Wizards of Baking is back for Season 2 with a fresh batch of pastry chefs, chocolatiers and cake artists. Eight teams of culinary wizards will put their baking chops and fandom to the test as they compete to craft edible marvels that capture the magic and grandeur of Hogwarts (while still being delicious, of course). Hosted by the real-life Weasley twins, James and Oliver Phelps, these contestants will have to battle it out for the Wizards of Baking Cup without getting too starstruck by the series of surprise guests.

Self-taught cake artist Jenny Chambers is a UK native who doesn’t need to use any CGI for her hyperrealistic creations. She was voted the 2023 Cake Artist of the Year after securing the Best in Show award at 2022’s Cake International Show. Alongside her is Alex Madrigal: a chocolatier who uses contemporary techniques to turn chocolate into a storytelling experience. He’s worked across the globe — from France to Taiwan, to the US and his home country of Mexico. Now, let’s see how he fares in London.

Not only is Kate Sigel the executive pastry chef at Tennessee’s own 1 Hotel Nashville, she’s also opened several hotels and restaurants across the country. Kate is a whimsical go-getter who puts her dedication and care into each of her creations. Whether she’s leading a kitchen at a luxury hotel or rewatching Goblet of Fire with her wife, Cara, Kate’s life is all about baking and magic. Her teammate, Heather Tocco, owns her own business, The Home Bakery, in Rochester, Michigan. Heather’s motto, “bigger is better, and more is more,” has earned her attention from celebrities like Katy Perry, all while remaining a proud member of her local community.

Priya Winsor is a globally celebrated master of chocolate who rode the Hogwarts Express all the way from Alberta, Canada. She and her teammate, Molly Robbins, both run their own businesses and plan to take their mutual taste, style and winning attitude all the way to the Wizards of Baking Cup. The daughter of entertainers, Molly is entering the competition with on-screen experience as the winner of Extreme Cake Makers.

Rui Mota and Angel Figueroa may have differing personalities, but their respective skill sets and complementary energies make them greater than the sum of their parts. With his specialization in molecular gastronomy and gastrophysics, Rui has made a name for himself as a “culinary mad scientist.” But just because he’s a man of science doesn’t mean he isn’t a wizard in the kitchen. Angel is a Chilean-born and Colorado-based cake artist who owns Denver’s 3 Cherries on Top bakery. Her TV experience comes from Food Network’s Holiday Wars and an appearance in the semifinals of Dr. Seuss Baking Challenge.

Jujhar Mann is a cake artist from Surrey, British Columbia, who specializes in hyperrealism. In addition to his own bakery, Mann & Co Bakeshop, Jujhar has trained under chefs in Paris and Las Vegas. If he and his teammate bring home the Wizards of Baking Cup this season, it would mark his fourth TV bake-show victory (including a recent win on Super Mega Cakes). Katie Bonzer is the hyper-competitive teammate everyone needs. The Floridian chocolatier’s drive, ambition and book smarts would make her a star student at Hogwarts — and a menacing opponent in the kitchen.

Marj Santaromana brings her fandom to life through cake, cosplay and digital art. The born-and-raised New Yorker’s passions range from wizards to wrestlers, with professional wrestling being a powerful source of inspiration for her art. Her teammate, Sarah Arnold, has been winning national baking competitions since she was a teenager. She currently works as an assistant pastry chef at The Sanctuary on Kiawah Island, South Carolina, where she specializes in wedding cakes and holiday displays. She also earned first place in Season 14 of Food Network’s Halloween Wars: All-Stars.

“Make it magical” — that’s the motto that Stefan Rose applies to all of his creative endeavors. In addition to serving as executive pastry chef at the five-star hotel Grantley Hall, Stefan is a DJ and cookbook writer. He’s a traditionalist who embraces modern techniques to redefine “luxury pastry.” From the other side of the pond, Andy Ortega is a CIA-trained cake artist (the Culinary Institute of America — not that CIA). Specializing in wedding and bespoke celebration cakes, Andy works at Lulu Cake Boutique, crafting some of the finest confections in all of Westchester County, New York.

No other duo in the competition is as similar as Caitlin Taylor and Jaleesa Mason. Both of them are driven mothers and business owners with a proven track record of success and a need to win. Where their skills diverge is where the real strength in their partnership lies. Caitlin has the technical skills to turn anything into a hyperrealistic cake. Jaleesa’s signature French-American style uses healthy ingredients to integrate bold and modern flavors into classic pastries like éclairs and croissants.

The Season 1 champions are back. After taking home the trophy last year, cake artist Zoë Burmester and executive pastry chef Jordan Pilarski were featured in Harry Potter: Wizards of Baking: The Official Companion Guide where they shared their championship recipes with culinary wizards around the world. Now, they’re back to write the next installment of their saga as chefs, and see if they can hold onto their title as the Wizards of Baking.
