Meet the Winners of 'Harry Potter: Wizards of Baking' Season 2

With 2025 marking the 25th anniversary of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, it was only right for the season finale to pay homage to the best film in the series. In a room filled with Harry Potter superfans, the teams presented to a panel of five judges, including Hogwarts legends Afshan Azad (Padma Patil), Warwick Davis (Professor Flitwick) and Devon Murray (Seamus Finnigan). Robert Pattinson sadly didn't make it, but neither did Cedric Diggory.

Molly and Priya’s re-creation of the extravagant arrival of the French witches of Beauxbatons sadly led them to a disappointing exit from the competition. They spared no expense, expertly detailing a crashing wave upon the Pyrenees mountain and the pegasus-drawn carriage soaring above; however, judges felt various flavors and textures of their whiskey hazelnut mousse golden apple weren’t well distributed for a small dessert with so many elements.

Reigning champs Jordan and Zoë returned in Episode 4 to defend their title, but ultimately fell short despite their spectacular bathroom cake. As the golden egg lowered into the running bubble bath they somehow made, the melodic moans of merpeople played. A collapsed piece of stained glass may have cost them the competition, but that doesn’t make the winning cake any less worthy.

Jenny and Alex saw a golden opportunity and leapt for it: construct an edible diorama of the Yule Ball in the very room it was held. Beneath a flawless chocolate dome, figurines of Ron and Hermione descended the stairs to a spinning, light-up dance floor surrounded by icicles. And when the judges least expected it, a mini cannon went off, re-creating the enchanting indoor blizzard. Jenny and Alex truly are Wizards of Baking.

A self-taught master in hyperrealism, Jenny is an award-winning baker from the United Kingdom and (of course) a Harry Potter superfan. She won Best in Show at the U.K. Cake International Show in 2022, and followed that up in 2023 by being voted Cake Artist of the Year. Her Instagram is rife with creations that will truly amaze you. Despite her massive accomplishments, Jenny stays humble and determined. “I’m British,” she said. “We don’t brag.”

An innovative chocolatier, Alex hails from Mexico, but his passport has stamps from around the world. France, Taiwan, the United States and now the United Kingdom — there’s no limit to where Alex’s talent and vision can take him. With an Instagram following of more than 160,000 people, Alex’s social media content is just a snapshot of what he’s capable of. This season marked his first televised appearance, leaving him with a winning record of 1-0 on Food Network competitions.

Let’s look back at the five cakes that brought Alex and Jenny to the finals.

Out of the gate, Jenny and Alex showed off everything that made them unique. In their tribute to Gryffindor, the two chose to honor house alumnus Rubeus Hagrid. They rigged a small dragon resting on his signature oven mitts to blast just enough heat to scorch his corn silk beard. It was a spectacular way to remember the late, great Robbie Coltrane.

Jordan and Zoë’s Prefects’ Bathroom wasn’t this season's first creation modeled after, as our friends across the pond would say, “the loo.” (Technically, there isn’t a toilet in the Prefects’ Bathroom, but just roll with it.) For the second challenge, the teams were given one word to work with: “transportation.” From broomsticks to the Floo Network, there’s no shortage of spectacular travel. Jenny and Alex chose the hidden passage to the Ministry of Magic — the epitome of resilience through the Death Eater regime. And before you ask, yes, the toilet flushed.

The Polyjuice Potion challenge called on contestants to fool the judges by making one-to-one replicas of iconic props and seeing if they could guess which was real. This challenge was one of the most technical of the season, giving Jenny and Alex a leg up with Jenny’s experience in hyperrealism. Despite that, the judges had no trouble discerning the authentic from the edible, but Alex’s golden bonbon and Jenny’s lemon cake tasting elements were enough to stave off elimination.

Jenny and Alex’s first win of the season (save for the head-to-head season premiere) came in the form of a giant chocolate frog. For this challenge, the bakers had to take a classic item from the Harry Potter world and supersize it. This round, Jenny’s hyperrealism expertise and Alex’s extraordinary chocolatier skills proved wizardly. Their teamwork was on full display, with the cake earning immense praise for Jenny’s detailed shading and lifelike energy, in addition to Alex’s curry nougat frog eyes.

Fighting for one of three spots in the finals, the season’s penultimate episode had a nice and straightforward theme: magical beasts, beings and creatures. While the other three teams opted for winged monsters, Jenny and Alex chose a being that … may be more of a creature: Dobby. The life they were able to impart behind the eyes and the immense detail of his wrinkly elf skin delivered the pain and yearning for approval that Dobby carries with him everywhere. It even came with the floating cake that Dobby so righteously dropped on Mrs. Mason’s head.
