Boston Market is best known as a rotisserie chicken joint, but one of the chain’s most beloved dishes actually goes better with turkey: cranberry walnut relish. The side started as a seasonal special back in 1992, but so many customers requested the sauce year-round that it earned a permanent spot in stores two years later. (Although it’s not actually listed on the menu, you can always order it.) Company execs never give out a recipe, so chefs in Food Network Kitchens developed this spot-on copy, perfect for your Thanksgiving feast or weeknight dinner.

Our classic cranberry sauce has the ideal texture of tart whole berries suspended in a sweet jammy sauce; we added citrus peel for a little extra brightness. Don't be tempted to skip the salt and and pepper at the end. It may seem a bit odd, but salt brings out the fruitiness of the berries while pepper gives the sauce a warm and spicy finish.

Rosemary is huge in Spanish cooking and sometimes it turns up in unexpected places, like this side dish of string beans tossed with oil that's been perfumed with rosemary, garlic and lemon. Lemon-scented olive oil is available in many grocery stores now, but it can be pricey. If you're up for it, try my homemade version that follows this recipe. These are delicious at room temperature so they can be made a little ahead. That and the fact that there is no mayonnaise, makes them a lovely dish for a picnic or barbecue on a hot day.
