There are certain household tasks I truly do not mind tackling — mopping, sorting laundry and even cleaning the shower come to mind. But, washing dishes is another story. While house-hunting, I refused to consider any home with a kitchen sink that faced the wall. Call me difficult, but I see no reason in making an already dull job even less enjoyable.

Give me a window, I said. Surely that’ll make it better! But, nothing made the task enjoyable until my mom gifted me this cute little soap dispenser. Owning a small ceramic jar and a brush might sound like a silly reason to start taking pleasure in your dish duties, but hear me out.

This Bubble Up Dish Soap Dispenser and Brush Set from Grove will instantly freshen up your kitchen counter — there’s no need to keep a giant container of dish soap out in the open anymore! Just add a small amount of dish soap to the ceramic base then put that unattractive bottle back under the sink where it belongs. Pumping the bamboo brush up and down on the spring-loaded ceramic base will get the bristles nice and sudsy and ready for scrubbing.

The bamboo brush is comfortable to hold onto, and I love the flexible bristles, which I have found are perfect for cleaning everything from dinnerware and sheet pans to the inside of my coffee pot carafe and even my air fryer crisper plate. My soap dispenser base is classic white, but they're also available in a beautiful cherry blossom design. Plus, when the base and spring need a clean themselves, simply pop them in the dishwasher.

I know I’m not the only one doing more dishes these days. And, no, this cute soap dispenser and functional brush hasn’t made me fall completely in love with my nightly cleaning routine. (It’s not all rainbows and unicorns yet, you know?) But rainbow-colored soap bubbles, a view of the kids playing in the front yard and a tidier countertop? This is the stuff grown-up dreams are made of.
