We had to test out the viral craze: fried cookie dough! The batter is easy to assemble using a pancake mix as the base to complement the sweet and gooey inside. Store-bought cookie dough is rolled into balls and then fried to golden brown perfection. It’s like the gooey bite of the inside of a warm cookie every single time.

Directions
Special equipment:
a deep-fry thermometer
In a large Dutch oven, add 2 to 3 inches canola oil and heat to 375 degrees F on a fry thermometer. Line a baking sheet with paper towels and set next to the stove.
Roll the cookie dough pieces into balls and refrigerate for 30 minutes or up to a couple of hours.
Meanwhile, in a medium bowl, add the pancake mix, milk, sugar, eggs and 1 tablespoon oil and whisk until smooth and combined.
Dip some of the chilled cookie dough balls into the batter, letting any excess drip off. Place into the hot oil and fry until golden brown and crispy, about 3 minutes.
Remove to the lined baking sheet and repeat with the remaining cookie dough balls. Garnish with a drizzle of chocolate syrup.
