1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
2 tablespoons packed brown sugar
1/3 cup pure maple syrup
1 cup toasted and chopped pecans
1 teaspoon coarsely ground black pepper

The praline sauce can be made the day before. To reheat, microwave in increments of 20 seconds, or heat in a small saucepan over medium-low heat until warm.
