Season 1, Episode 8

San Francisco Opera Gala

Giada is invited behind the scenes of the San Francisco Opera's Opening Night Ball, an 800 guest black-tie gala over nine months in the making. Equally extravagant and elegant, the ball's exotic Moroccan theme make the menu and the decor an exciting challenge for caterers McCall Associates and event designer Robert Fountain. And with a menu that includes jicama and watermelon salad, Moroccan spiced lamb chops, and a gorgeous layered fruit and mascarpone dessert, Coupe Rossini, it's going to be a feast for the eyes as well as the stomach. It's the largest event of the San Francisco social season, and Giada is with the event team every step of the way to see how they pull it together.
