Take a Tour of Flavortown Market: Guy's Grocery Games

The supermarket turns battleground on Guy's Grocery Games. During each episode, chefs are put to the test in a competition that takes the everyday chore of shopping to the next level of creativity with three rounds of cooking challenges. The chefs will have to navigate an actual grocery store, Fields Market in California, which was transformed into the set of the show. Take a tour with Guy of what he likes to call "Flavortown Market."

The produce section is the perfect place to pick up some fresh green veggies for many different dishes, but that doesn't mean some contestants can't pick up their vegetables from the frozen aisle.

Guy may present the contestants with a grocery list of must-use items, and proteins can often be on that list. Here the contestants can choose to go with whole poultry, portioned meats or prepared items, such as sausages.

The grocery store contains more than 25,000 items, so the cooking challenge possibilities are endless.

Whether they're sent on a chase for a specific brand of boxed cereal or just oatmeal in a can, the contestants need to familiarize themselves with all the aisles.

The fruit stand is a smart option to pick from, whether it's grabbing a lemon to add some zip to a recipe or coming up with a unique tropical dessert.

In need of some butter or cream for that dish? The dairy section will come in handy when a contestant wants to enrich a sauce or base an entire dish around eggs.

Potatoes and onions are always good standbys for many recipes. The contestants might not want to take these humble ingredients for granted.

Here the contestants take on their cooking challenges before presenting their dishes to the judges' panel. The stations have been outfitted with all the equipment they will need, including 18 cutting boards and 30 tasting spoons.

While the contestants are out racing to gather their ingredients, Guy likes to motivate them over the loudspeaker. Sometimes he has to urge them to hurry up. Time is of the essence, after all.
