While peanut butter and jelly used to be my jam growing up, there’s something sort of sophisticated about a nice plate of scones, biscuits and pastries—with a jar of jam. You’ll find that you use fruit jam for afternoon tea, brunch and even for baking. Need a little something fancy in your kitchen? Or just a sweet pick-me-up? Food Network staffers are spreading the love with their top jam picks.

Bonne Maman

If there’s one jam I can’t live without, it’s these Raspberry Preserves from Bonne Maman. I add them to my morning toast, weekend scones, thumbprint cookies — the list goes on. The sweet and rich flavor stands up to any kind of carb and additional spread including butter, clotted cream and peanut butter. I also love the texture of the preserves with some crunchy raspberry seeds in every bite.

Store-bought strawberry jams can be cloying, but this one has a lovely sweet-tart balance. It's nicely textured, too—thick enough to dollop into batters, but not so chunky that spreading it on a sandwich is a hassle. Best of all, to me, it really, truly tastes like strawberries.

Josephine's Feast

I’m obsessed with this hot pepper jam! It definitely brings the heat—so beware before getting a bit too overzealous with it—and tastes so vibrant. I love slathering it on a freshly pan-fried Trader Joe’s Vegetable Masala Burger.

Stonewall Kitchen

I love keeping this particular jam in my pantry. Whenever I’m hosting a gathering it gives me a good excuse to create a charcuterie board! Of course, you have your cheeses, your crackers and your prosciutto on main display—but including a little jar of jam will give you so much extra flavor and sweetness! Spooning a little over your cheese will allow you to experience the best sweet and savory combination and leave you wanting more.

If there’s one thing I always have in my refrigerator, it’s a jar of Bonne Maman Strawberry Preserves. Though it’s a bit on the pricey side, this berry-studded jam is totally worth it because it adds an upscale touch to just about any dish. I always feel so bougie and highbrow when I use it inside a peanut butter and jelly sandwich or spread a generous amount of it on top of a piece of toast. It also doesn’t hurt that it comes from my favorite place on earth, France! Do yourself a favor and say oui to this jam, you won’t regret it!
