Caramel Sauce

3/4 cup (1 1/2 sticks) unsalted butter

3 cups light brown sugar 

1/3 cup corn syrup 

1 tablespoon vanilla bean paste 

1 teaspoon salt 

1/3 cup heavy cream 


  1. Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Add sugar, corn syrup, vanilla, salt and 1/3 cup water. Whisk until well combined and melted. Just as it begins to bubble, slowly add the heavy cream, whisking while incorporating into the caramel.
  2. As soon as the caramel bubbles, remove from heat and let cool to room temperature.
  3. If the caramel appears to separate, simply whisk together. Serve warm. Enjoy!
