  1. Next time you host a birthday party, consider serving cheese in the form of a three-layer cake! Mix three 8-ounce packages softened cream cheese with 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce and 3 cups shredded firm cheese (cheddar, parmesan, pepper jack, gouda or a mix); season with salt and pepper. Oil 3 small round pans or ramekins of varying sizes (about 3 to 6 inches) and line with plastic wrap; press the cheese mixture into the pans and chill until firm. Unmold and cover with nuts, bacon, spices or other toppings, then stack the layers. Serve with crackers.
