1/2 teaspoon granulated sugar
2 dashes bitters, such as Angostura
1 strip orange zest
2 ounces whiskey
1 brandied cherry, optional
Orange Swirl Ice Cubes (See Cook's Note)
To make Orange Swirl Ice Cubes, use a zester to make long strips of orange zest and curl them into swirls. Add one piece of zest to each compartment of an ice cube tray, fill with distilled water and freeze overnight.
