1 1/2 quarts vanilla ice cream, plus additional 1/2 quart for topping

1 cup dark rum 

1/2 cup cognac 

1/2 cup heavy cream 

1/2 cup milk 

2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract 

Freshly grated nutmeg, for garnish


  1. Place the ice cream, rum, cognac, heavy cream, milk and vanilla in a blender and blend until smooth. Pour into glasses, and top each glass with a scoop of ice cream. Garnish with freshly grated nutmeg and serve immediately.
