Meet Chef Duff Goldman and the Charm City Cakes team. The upcoming week is a busy one—the staff must crank out 21 decorative cakes including a special cake for the Preakness, one of the three biggest horse races in the world. Duff will be delivering the cake to the Maryland Jockey Club's VIP tent in the infield—no easy feat. The other main cakes we follow are the Jeep cake being done by Geof, and the Kasey Kruger wedding cake that Duff is creating for a college friend's wedding. Among the other "background" cakes for the week are an X-Box cake, a fish cake, a dentist cake (complete with gum paste dental instruments and teeth), a crazy pink-and-black cake and several other wedding cakes.
Rematch on! With pride at stake and determination in their eyes, four previously defeated competitors return to the Chopped kitchen to prove that they are not second-best, after all. As they set out to redeem themselves, the chefs are challenged by a tough cut of meat and a pungent English condiment in the appetizer basket. And the twenty-minute time limit coupled with some very eager chefs leads to a rowdy round. Then as they hustle to assemble the entrees, the chefs have to fight harder than ever to stay in the competition, but with cookies and fish in the basket, impressing the judges is no sure thing. And in the quest to finally become a Chopped Champion, blueberry jellybeans stand in the way of two very determined previous losers.
Celebrity Chopped! Four V.I.P chefs compete to see who can claim a spot in the All-Stars finale for a chance at winning $50,000 for their favorite charitable organization. The other competitors hope that a famous pastry chef will get tripped up in one of the first two rounds and fail to make it to dessert. And when one of the other chefs makes a very original choice with the fresh pasta sheets in the appetizer basket, it is clear that these stars will be pushing the limits of creativity. Then, in the entree course, a big fish and some little crackers are mandatory, and the chefs are extraordinarily focused. And with a Mexican sugar and a Chinese spice in the dessert basket, the all-stars must think globally if they want to win decisively.
Robert is racing to Indianapolis, IN to help Snooty Fox, a struggling English pub-style restaurant. It's been a mainstay in the city for 28-years but because of their aging clientele, it likely won't last another 8-months. Robert is underwhelmed by the British-influence and overwhelmed by grime and food safety issues. The first thing he does is close the kitchen down. But there are bigger fish (and chips) to fry when the head chef quits with no notice. With two days to get this place back on its feet, Robert kicks into high gear - interviewing new chefs, overhauling the décor and updating the menu. With time quickly running out, trouble with the design keeps everyone wondering if the Snooty Fox is ever going to run again.
