It’s official: the first day of spring is here. With the new season comes a bounty of blooming flowers, but since these flowers haven’t blossomed quite yet, we found an alternative way to get our floral fix. Turns out, Instagram is chockfull of sweet and edible flower-shaped desserts. Although none of these creations contain actual buds or stems, they’re still swoon-worthy enough to brighten your day. From cake pops to cotton candy, here are a few of our favorites:

Flower Cake

Yes, this decadent, pastel cake from Magnolia Bakery is pretty to look at, but watch the video to be completely mesmerized by flawless flower piping.

Rose “Doughflowers”

Doughnut Plant — a New York City-based bakery — created the baked good of our dreams: a rose-shaped doughnut. This strawberry-glazed treat is made by overlapping layers of dough to create delicious “petals.”

Flower-Shaped Sugar Cookie

Talk about eye candy! We could watch the piping of the petals on this daisy-shaped sugar cookie all day.

Cactus Cupcake

Okay, so maybe this cactus isn’t technically a flower, but we thought it was too cute not to share. This crafty Instagram user transforms green icing into a prickly cupcake topper right before our eyes.

Rose Cheesecake

The first day of spring makes us want to stop and smell the roses. This rose-inspired strawberry cheesecake from Eileen’s Special Cheesecake counts, right?

Macaron “Blossoms”

It’s safe to say that we’ve never seen macarons like this before. Iced in between each sunny cookie are delicate forget-me-not flowers.

Gelato Rose

They say that roses are red and violets are blue, but what about gelato roses? This colorful beauty is made by carefully constructing petals into a rose shape using bright purple, pink and yellow gelato.
