This Comically Large Water Bottle Is How I Stay Hydrated at Home
Trust me, you won't forget to drink water with this jug nearby.
Even as a full-time freelancer, working from home has been an adjustment, to say the least. Over the past few months, I’ve slowly learned how to structure my days, create a makeshift home office, and whip up easy and nutritious lunches. But the one thing that I’ve struggled to master? Staying hydrated.
I know what you’re thinking: This seems painfully easy. But no matter how busy or slow my days are, I always forget to drink enough water. When I worked out of my co-working space, I’d keep a carafe of water at my table. While it seems like such an obvious solution, that logic never transferred to my WFH setup.
However, my hydration luck changed for the better when I discovered Toofeel’s 2.2 Liter Water Jug. (Yes, it’s a jug.) When I saw two of my friends drinking out of this comically large water jug during our weekly virtual yoga classes, I couldn’t help but laugh. Spacious enough to store a little more than a half-gallon of water, this jug was literally larger than their heads. But when one of my friends explained this helps them stay hydrated during the day, I immediately added one to my e-cart.
From a design standpoint, there isn’t much that differentiates Toofeel’s jug from any other reusable water bottle. It has an easy-to-grip handle, convenient flip cap closure, and wide mouth that makes it easy to add ice cubes. Best of all, it’s dishwasher-friendly.
This water jug’s major selling point, though, is its size. Instead of refilling an average-sized water bottle multiple times, I can fill my jug only once or twice (if I'm feeling really ambitious) per day. Not only does this jug eliminate the amount of times I go back and forth to my kitchen, but it’s large, can’t-miss-it size doubles as a visual cue to remind me to stay hydrated. And while I can’t back it up with science, I’ve noticed a correlation between drinking the entire contents of my Toofeel jug and spending the day headache-free.
My only gripe with Toofeel's jug that is that it doesn’t feature double-walled insulation to keep my water icy cold. However, I usually fill my jug before I go to bed, leave it in the refrigerator overnight, and wake up to chilled water. While this routine isn’t perfect, it does keep my water relatively cold throughout the day. Ultimately, it’s a small price to pay to spend the day hydrated.
