Plain old fruit jams are a thing of the past in my house.

When you visit the website for Trade Street Jam Co., it’s obvious that you’ve come across something really special. Originally founded in a tiny apartment located on Trade Street in North Carolina, the independent jam company now operates out of Brooklyn, New York, and prides itself on the fact that it isn’t anything like all those “average jams” you’ve had before. And with good reason, too; with layered flavors like Blueberry Lemon Basil, Sour Cherry Ginger and Blackberry Mulled Merlot to name a few, Trade Street’s jams are all about innovation — and just how far a spoonful of jam can go when it comes to delivering bold flavor to all your favorite dishes.

If your own personal experience with jam has been limited to a few slices of buttered toast in the morning or a peanut butter and jelly sandwich in the afternoon, a jar of Trade Street jam is a must-buy now, and always. Just take it from me — I received my very first box of jams last week and have already placed two more orders. That’s just how delicious Trade Street’s jams are!

Not only are they vegan-friendly and gluten-free, each blend of Trade Street jam is also completely free of pectin and other preservatives that give store-bought jams their gummy and globby thickness. This means that Trade Street’s blends have a thinner, spoonable texture and aren’t ladened with extra servings of sugar. They’re also made in small batches of 300 to 500 jars at a time, so each jam variety has a stronger, fruitier flavor profile. This also means that all of Trade Street's jams taste exactly like what's written on their super fun labels.

If you’re stumped on which flavor to try first, follow my lead and buy their Sampler Collection; the box comes with six miniature jars of all of Trade Street’s best-selling flavors and a mini wooden spoon to help you scoop up and enjoy each one. Though each flavor can — and should — be eaten on its own right out of the jar, they also make the perfect flavorful companion to a variety of sweet and savory creations like cocktails, salads, sandwiches, pies, sundaes and so much more. I recently added a generous serving of their slightly spicy Strawberry Chipotle & Fig jam to some Manchego cheese slices for a quick snack, and I was in literal heaven. And don’t even get me started on what a smear of their Smoked Yellow Peach jam did to a set of grilled pork chops; two words: pure perfection. Plum & Rose has to be my personal favorite so far. It's got hints of lemon and rose water to give you an evenly-balanced jam with just the right touch of floral notes. Added to a serving of plain Greek yogurt, it's a literal masterpiece.

So, the next time you find yourself looking for a jar of jam that really deserves that coveted spot in your refrigerator, look no further than Trade Street Jam Co. Trust me — you’ll never need another jam brand again!
