Gaby Dalkin's Debut Kitchenware Collection Is Now at Crate & Barrel
Designed for "effortless entertaining," her 66-piece collection layers textures and neutral colors for the ultimate California vibe.

Gaby Dalkin is the ultimate millennial California girl. Her website What's Gaby Cooking, started in 2009, even contains recipe categories devoted to avocados and tacos. And if you've spent any time on her Instagram, you know her all-white kitchen with touches of light and dark wood has her followers California dreaming. With an extra-large island and custom-designed bar with two wine fridges, it's an entertainer's delight.
Despite creating the kitchen of her dreams, there were still pieces that Dalkin just couldn't find to make it absolutely perfect. Her What's Gaby Cooking x Crate & Barrel line launching August 8 is designed to fix all of that.
"I wanted to create all the things that I’ve always needed but could never find," Dalkin says. "Crate & Barrel was the perfect partner for my first collection, and they helped me design a collection made for effortless entertaining to customers everywhere."

The 66-piece collection evokes Dalkin's quintessential California vibe. From tiered servers made from FSC-certified wood to hand-glazed ceramics, each product is carefully crafted and designed to fit an easy breezy west coast aesthetic — and is designed to be used on a regular basis. Dalkin's collection layers textures and neutral colors, so customers can mix and match pieces.
"I am not into clutter in the kitchen, so it was important that we created functional pieces that can be used for both everyday meals and special occasions, and still look beautiful," says Dalkin.

If you're unsure what to zero in on first, Dalkin's favorite piece is the Carmel Ceramic Dinnerware designed in Portugal. She also swears by any of the linens to evelate your tablescape.

We Asked Gaby Dalkin for Her Must-Have Kitchen Tools
Ever wonder what famous chefs actually cook with besides their own products? We asked Dalkin what she can't live without in the kitchen — and the answers might surprise you!
"I love utensils and gadgets but like I mentioned, don’t like a cluttered kitchen so they have to have a purpose (or two!)," says Dalkin. "A cherry pitter is one thing that I think is very useful — especially in the summertime."
"I love a Le Creuset braiser," says Dalkin. "It’s the most versatile piece of cookware you can own — use it to braise (obvi), whip up a quick pasta, do a simple saute, bake in it. It works for pretty much everything!"
When we asked Dalkin to choose her favorite kitchen appliance, it was a toss-up between her Vitamix and KitchenAid stand mixer. "Both are mega work horses and can do double-triple-quadruple duty!" she says.
