I fell in love with Parisian ham sandwiches in Paris. Amongst the many legendary meals, pastries and baked goods, what tickled me me the most was a simple ham sandwich with salt, Dijon and butter. This is a tiny version, yet explosive with flavor.

Directions
Lay out 4 slices of bread and schmear half with mustard from crust to crust. Top each with 2 slices of Gruyère. Arrange the ham in ribbons on top of the cheese.
On the remaining 4 slices of bread, schmear the butter from crust to crust and sprinkle with salt. Close the sandwiches, cut off the crusts and slice into rectangles. Serve.
